Rustic Farmhouse Kitchen
A perfect blend of traditional charm and modern functionality.
Rustic Farmhouse Kitchen
This spacious kitchen is brimming with characteristic original features. This made it a true test of our craftsmanship to create furniture that fits seamlessly into its nooks, crannies, and alcoves. It was crucial that everything we specified would work in harmony with the oak beams and lime-plastered walls.
The central island is the dominant presence within the kitchen, measuring almost 4 metres long. It not only provides ample workspace but also incorporates hidden storage on the reverse side, cleverly concealed within the Shaker panels. The island is complemented by the adjacent prep table, featuring a solid oak worktop inspired by traditional butcher blocks. The table is a practical addition, which looks stunning and cleverly conceals the sous-chef appliance.
The farmhouse-style furniture is painted in three Farrow & Ball colours: Dimity, Oxford Stone, and Off Black. All of the cabinetry is in-frame, featuring a subtle beaded detail along the top and base of the shaker panels, along with a scalloped plinth detail in each of the working areas.
Fully bespoke and hand-made in our workshop, the cabinetry includes bi-folding dresser units that serve as a drinks station. There are glazed units to display glassware. Solid oak drawer boxes were also specified with cutlery dividers and organisation accessories. All of the numerous decorative trims, beadings, details and profiles were expertly made with custom tooling.
This kitchen is a perfect blend of traditional charm and modern functionality, meticulously crafted with careful attention to detail.

Design Highlights
“This room is so vast in scale but it is the small touches for me that have really brought it together. Even though there is plenty of room to spread out, the lasting impression is a room that is intimate and homely. Every exacting detail has been given careful attention and a special mention must go to Paul in the workshop for forming each hand-made component so thoroughly.
Plenty of credit should also be given to the clients for their understanding and appreciation of how each individual element contributes to the bigger picture. I’ve found it difficult to narrow down, but personally the standout features of this design are the hidden storage within the island shaker panels and the prep table."
Client Comments
"From the outset Burt Woodworking went out of their way to accommodate everything we wanted in our design, both in layout and in the details of the cabinetry. Creative visuals were available to help up us envisage the kitchen layout prior to manufacture, and all the elements I wanted in the detailing of the cabinetry were accommodated in the making. The fitters were well organised and neat which was a great experience.
Burt Woodworking have created a bespoke kitchen for us, built from quality materials, made exactly to the design we envisaged.
Well done!"
